Treadmill pros and cons

We all know that staying in shape is important, for your health, and we all need exercise, and none of us get enough of it. This could be due to being busy in your daily life, or simply not really wanting to do it. Having a treadmill right in your home, can be a great way to save time, and get motivated to start jogging and get into shape. Below I’m going to discuss a few pros and cons of using a treadmill rather than a different type of exercise machine, such as a stationary bike. Pros 1. Portable and small. One good point of having a treadmill is that it is portable and small, and you can keep it in even in small places where you live. This is good if you live in an apartment with not a whole lot of space. You will be able to run do you your cardio on an every day basis with not a whole lot of room! 2. Great for your health. Another great thing about owning a treadmill is that it is great for your knees. Many forms of cardio are high impact and can do a lot of damage to your knees. But treadmills are designed to be smooth and specifically low impact for people who don’t want to throw out their knees! 3. Inexpensive. If you get a treadmill at a used store or online used, you can often find it for cheap. This is great for people who want to get fit, but do not have a whole ton of extra cash to spend. Cons 1. If buying new, expensive. If you are purchasing a treadmill brand new out of the store, it will end up costing you a bit of change. One of the best thing is that newer treadmills often have quite a few extras on them. Things such as calorie counters, heart rate monitors built in, and being able to change the projection, all come standard. 2. Can be bulky. When looking at treadmill reviews, you need to be sure that it is not going to be too big and bulky. You want to ensure that it is going to fit where ever you are storing it. 3. Can be high impact. Compared with running on a street, treadmills are low impact, however when compared to elliptical machines or stationary bikes, they are quite hard on the knees. If you are older, or don’t have an established cardio base, make sure you take it slow and easy. When looking for treadmill reviews, make sure that it fits all the needs you have. There is nothing worse then shelling out cash on a treadmill only to find out that it has a crucial missing feature.
